CafeTO is back & better than ever!

We are thrilled to once again have several local restaurants and cafes making use of the CafeTO on-street patio program! This economic recovery program was initiated & launched by the City of Toronto, in collaboration with local BIAs like ours, as a way to help struggling restaurants, bars, and cafes recover some of what has been lost due to the extensive indoor dining closures during COVID.

This year, the BIA worked with our participating members to design and build more robust and attractive fencing that looks great, and feels more protective.

Our Public Parklet is moving to a new spot!

The very popular on-street public parklet that has been located near the NE corner of Spadina Rd. and Lonsdale will soon be relocated to the SW side of the Village. A new location was selected in order to share the parklet, and in order to make space for the forthcoming on-street outdoor dining CaféTO curb side cafe installations, the City's economic recovery initiative for restaurants.

The Village will have more outdoor dining and seating space than ever this summer!

On-Street Public Parklet to remain over the winter!

The owners of What a Bagel, the nearest business to the public parklet, have agreed to help out with snow clearing and will aim to have the parklet cleared within 12-24hrs of a snowfall.

Our Streetscape Maintenance person will also continue to visit the Village once or twice a week (weather permitting) to keep the parklet, and rest of the village, as tidy as possible. Thank you in advance to all who enjoy the parklet for taking along any garbage you may have produced to the nearest garbage/recycling bin at the NE corner of Spadina & Lonsdale.

CafeTO arrives on Spadina Rd for Al Fresco Dining in the Village

We've been working behind the scenes for the past couple of weeks to help the City roll out the new CafeTO program that provides qualifying/interested restaurants on-street Curb Side Cafe spaces in which to conduct safe dining operations.

Just approved at City Council on June 29th, Forest Hill Village is one of the first communities to see the installations in place as of today, June 30th!

Full Al Fresco dining service should begin as of July 1st! More information coming soon.
