Forest Hill turns 100!! 1923 - 2023

It’s our 100th anniversary, we’re having a party to celebrate this milestone, and everyone is invited! The area, formerly known as Spadina (Spa-dee-na) Heights, was incorporated as The Village of Forest Hill in 1923, and joined the City of Toronto in 1967.

While there are several BIAs within the boundaries of Forest Hill, our Forest Hill Village BIA has taken the lead on marking this important occasion. The event will be an opportunity for the community to gather and celebrate the rich history of The Village and we hope you’ll join us!

CafeTO Patio season is back

2023 marks the 4th year of the now permanent City of Toronto CafeTO patio program and the east side of Spadina has plenty of patio seating at Mashu Mashu, What A Bagel, and EDO-ko.

We've also moved our on-street Public Parklet to the West side near our newest member business, Forest Hill Pets.

Now that the City is requiring temporary platforms for all curb lane patios, such as the one used for our Parklet, the current installations are phase one of our 2023 patio season.

Love the Village & Social Media? We're Hiring!

We're looking for someone to join our team part time to help manage our new FB & Insta spaces. This individual will need to demonstrate experience in a similar role, and ideally will live nearby.

We have a good budget for this position, and will be looking for 2-3 posts/wk. The successful candidate will work with the BIA Manager, and Marketing Designer, to develop the look/vibe of the content and to map out the plan for the year ahead.

There's lots of exciting stuff happening in FHV in 2023! Are you up for helping us grow our audience and tell them all about it?

What's with the skinny yellow pylons?

You may have noticed and wondered about the new skinny yellow poles recently installed throughout the Village. These markers are in place for the winter season and have been positioned near our street furniture in an attempt to stop further expensive damage to our benches and planters caused in previous years by sidewalk snow plows doing their thing after large snowfall events.
